Fund educational opportunity

Corporate Sponsors

Two potential partnership structures can help companies support educational competitions and meaningful prize funds.

1. Promotional Prize Fund

A company contributes $100,000:

  • $20,000 supports Markis and operating expenses
  • $80,000 becomes the base educational prize fund
  • If $200,000 in entry revenue is generated and the $80,000 prize fund is fully awarded, $120,000 would remain before payment processing, refunds, taxes, promotion, administration, legal costs, and other expenses
  • How that remaining amount is distributed, including any possible return to the company, would be defined in the final agreement

This is an illustrative gross-revenue example, not a promise of profit. Any return depends on the final legal structure and agreements and is subject to applicable laws.

2. Charitable Donation Model

A company gives $100,000 through the charitable structure:

  • $20,000 supports expenses, including fiscal sponsor costs
  • $80,000 becomes the base prize fund
  • If $200,000 in entry revenue is generated, the total educational prize fund becomes $280,000
  • No funds return to the company

The contribution may qualify for a tax deduction, subject to fiscal sponsor rules. Consult a tax professional.

Important planning note

These examples illustrate possible partnership concepts, not a securities offering, promise of profit, tax opinion, or final agreement. Every sponsorship should be reviewed and documented by qualified legal and tax professionals before funds are accepted or promoted.
